HELLO FROM BETA ZETA!
Our sophomore pledge class arrived bright and early at the Kappa Delta house in the beginning of August for Spirit Week, with the older girls soon after. We spent hours together getting ready for over 1,900 PNMs to walk through our front doors. We had such a blast growing closer to our sisters and preparing to show everyone why Kappa Delta is so important to us.
Our hard work payed off when we got to see hundreds of smiling faces walk into our home and share our sisterhood during recruitment. A big thanks to our formal recruitment chair, Hailey Tant, and our Vice President-Recruitment, Ashley Grace Novak, for making this the best recruitment ever.
In between rounds, we started classes! Our house residents were excited and ready to go on the first day- family photos were a must!
After weeks of anticipation, the day finally arrived… BID DAY!!!!!!! We welcomed 117 amazing new members into the 2017 pledge class. Nothing could compare to getting to watch these girls run home to us! We couldn’t be more excited to welcome them into this sorority. GLOW KD!!
Our bid day party was the best yet! In typical KD fashion, there was lots of food, dancing and pictures. We are so thankful for our bid day chairs, Wynne Johnson and Ellie Hall, and our VP- Member Education, Amanda Jackson, for planning such an incredible day for us.
A new pledge class means the start of new member meetings! Our girls have been learning all about Kappa Delta and what it means to be a part of something so special. Our SET Leaders are so excited to be apart of their transition to Beta Zeta.
GAMEDAYS ARE BACK!! After months of waiting, we are finally back sandstormin’ in Williams-Brice Stadium with our sisters!!
We’re also back working with one of our favorite organizations- the Girl Scouts of the USA! At our first event, we hosted over 90 local Girl Scouts to help them learn First Aid. We love these girls so much and can’t wait to hang out with them in a few short weeks for our Halloween Girl Scout Event!!
Most recently, we had semi-formal, our first function of the year! Everyone looked beautiful and we were excited to show the new members how much fun we have at functions. Thank you to our social chairs, Ciara Gray and Taylor Sharple for such a fun night.
Our fun is not limited to Columbia, though- a few of our amazing sisters are having an incredible time studying around the world. We miss them so much, but can’t to hear about all of their adventures abroad.
The cherry on top of these amazing first months is BIG LITTLE REVEAL! Our freshman have been waiting to find out who their big sis is… from buddy dates to a full week of presents- the excitement was high!! We love our sweet fams and are glad they are finally complete!
